Headline: These men and women serve you each and every day. They'll trade their life for yours. Now they're asking you for your support. These dedicated public servants are asking for your vote FOR the referendum Thursday on the Memphis ballot.
The politicians have been trying to confuse voters. The politicians are saying they can spend the money on whatever they want. That's false. They say they will give some to the county. Not without a fight and another vote. They say approving this sales tax increase will bankrupt the city. That's not true. They say it won't solve any problems. That's not true. They say this won't improve public safety. It will. The politicians say this is a regressive tax. It's not.
The politicians said to bring them the funding and they will properly restore benefits for these dedicated public safety employees that were stripped away from them. We're giving them the solution with your help.

The politicians fail to remind you that someone would not spend more than $8.00 on any one purchase if the sales tax is in fact increased. The politicians fail to tell you the increased sales tax would not apply to SNAP benefits or gasoline. The politicians fail to remind you that the suburban cities passed the same tax years ago. When the suburb cities passed their sales tax increase, no county commission threatened to get their "fair share." The county commission knew at that time it's up to the cities to run themselves. They county commission knew at that time they didn't need to interfere with the cities' rights.

It's your voice. It's your vote. We're asking for that voice and vote this Thursday by voting FOR the referendum on the ballot. Thank you! #memphis #vote901 #voteyall #votememphis #bluffcitybravest #bluffcitylaw #iaff

Headline: Vote FOR the referendum on the October 3rd ballot. Your firefighters and police officers need your support. Since January 2016, overall retention rate in the fire department is less than 50%. Millions of dollars in training and salaries walking out when firefighters leave for other cities. Let’s stop the bleeding. Let’s show the politicians that the citizens run this city! #memphis #bluffcitybravest
