Headline: When the fourth annual AVBOB Poetry Competition closed on 30 November, the statistics told an exciting story about a vital, vibrant and emerging culture of poetry in South Africa! An astonishing 75% of entries came from youth poets, remarkable growth was seen in the Siswati and Setswana categories, and R1,23 million was invested collectively in poets who received a R300 usage fee per poem that was published in the AVBOB Poetry Library.
