Annabella...\n\nI wrapped the waist-length leather jacket even tighter around my body to shield from the dropping temperatures that hit unexpectedly. Letting out a\nhefty breath, I made a turn on my right, hailing the cab on the other side of\nthe street.\n\nI quickly opened the back door, slumping my body while staring at the middle-aged man who frowned as he looked down at my white dress. "You ok\nmiss?" he remarked, before he turned around.\n\n"267 Natty Ave, please," I whispered while looking down at my dress. I placed my oversized handbag on the dress, covering the stains.\nHolding in my tears, the cab driver took off.\n\nWhat was I thinking? So stupid and naïve, I should have known better.\n\n"You know, I have a daughter your age. You don't look a day older than sixteen. What's your name and are you in need of help? Should I take you to\nthe hospital?"\n\nWhy doesn't he mind his own business and just leave me alone.\n\n"I'm fine, just take me to that address." Looking through his rear view mirror, his eyes held a desperate 'let me help you' call, but I\ndidn't need it. It was I who got myself in this mess, so I have to live with\nit for the rest of my life.\n\nStaring out the foggy glass window, I started to cry. The cab driver huffed while saying, "Please let me help you. Why are you bleeding? Did someone\nhurt you?"\n\nThe cab stopped at my destination, throwing a fifty dollar bill, I got out and ran up the stairs to the apartment complex where my grandmother lived as\nquickly as I could until reaching the second floor.\n\nBanging on the door over and over, hoping she would still be up at this time.\n\nMentally breaking down on the inside. I fall to my knees, letting out a cry for help. "Nana, open up, please! Help me!"\n\nThe neighbor that lived across from grandma's apartment opened their door and watched me as I cried. A elderly woman came out and stood behind me while\nI continued to cry my heart out, "Deborah, open up," she said, but\nno response.\n\nAfter a couple of minutes, the lock on the door di

JUMP THROUGH GLASS by Gary Floyd August 17 Some days, I just want to run and jump right into glass... When I was a kid about 12, or so, my mother worked in a fancy shoe store in a small “sh** hole” Texas town. During the summer months, I’d go downtown to meet her for lunch, and then I’d go to a movie at the Texas Theater... Afterward, I’d go to the shoe store for a ride home. I loved it all too. Her co-worker was an older, but very attractive, well to do woman named Mini. They would gossip as they got the store ready to close. I enjoyed the lady talk and did my best to add my two cents worth. We’d get home just in time for me to help daddy set the table for dinner. Mama took off her work clothes, and life became the typical summer evening, usually with a fight or two at the dinner table. One day at the shoe store, me, mama, and Mini were getting ready to leave when the big glass door was frantically pushed open, and a boy about my age ran into the store. We were all startled and watched him run, like someone being chased, through the whole place, he saw no exit so he turned and ran back. There was two big glass windows on either side of the door he had just entered by. He ran as fast as he could to exit...thinking the window on the side of the door was going to open, he held his outstretched hands directly in front as he crashed into the thick, shattering, slicing glass. The heat from the hot summer ‘getting off’ time, Texas late afternoon came right in the nightmare opening. He was a bloody mess on the green-tiled entranceway. This all happened in a minute or less. All silent, but soon his screaming shattered that, too. Soon an ambulance took him off... He and some other kid were playing cops and robbers it turned out. He lived. I envy that kid sometimes. The glass rush. The heatwave. The release. -the pleasure mixed with pain. Mini was a fashion plate. Summer dresses with a make-up brush. xoxo... Cousin Gary Floyd Uncle Gary

There are people in the world that had always been nice. Not because they had been flourish with kindness, but their heart always speaks well to the people around them. Their kind nature was not subjected to their life, as it had always been who they are. One person who envisioned this was Mint Hearst. She was just an ordinary girl living in a pack that was all green and humid, people were used to the heat and her body loved getting stroked with the sun that would heat her more. Despite the kindness and the happiness that she felt, Mint was an orphan. Nobody in the pack knew of her family, she was left on the edge of the land and was sheltered by the pack. Having to be both beautiful and kind, she was favored of all. Especially one: Carson, the future Alpha of the pack. “Give me a second, Natalie,” Mint whispered as she cringed. “I think I need to pee.” Natalie chuckled, nodding her head. “Okay, girl. Hurry up, Carson is almost turning to his age of knowing!” “How does that affect me?” She joked she rushed to the bathroom. Carson would be turning 18 in less than an hour, and he would finally know who his mate was. All the pack members were aware that it was Mint, seeing that the man had always fancied the woman since he had seen her. Males are always very soft and attached to their mates before their wolf knew everything. Pushing the bathroom door open, she had stilled upon hearing a sob in one of the bathroom stalls. She was not familiar with the scent, marking it as one of the new families that had merged in the park. But why was she crying? Like always, she wanted to give people some room for them to catch themselves. But her heart was filled with nothing but gold, not wanting the woman to feel sad on or own. She wanted to give some type of help to her—as that seemed to be something that was given in the pack. Pulling some courage, she muttered to the walls. “Are you okay in there?” “I’m okay!” The woman jumped on the other side, clearly disregar

Imagine generating a higher return in one land deal than what can be generated in the average 2,080 hours in the work year. I’ve been working in the land development sector for almost 2 decades now. And year over year, I’ve been making huge returns on my land deals. Many people assume you have to have have millions to even get your foot in the land development door. Others assume you have to be born into it, or to have grown up around it, because it’s so complicated and risky. These assumptions actually aren’t true. Land deals actually can be done successfully (and profitably) without taking on the huge risks that land developers take in purchasing land and funding the construction of the project. Over the past 18 years, friends and acquaintances who have seen my success, seen my lifestyle, have commonly said things like: “What’s your secret?” “How can I do what you do?” “Can you teach me to do this stuff?” “I’ve got the resources to build a side real estate business, but I don’t know where to start. And I have no desire to do fix-and-flips!” For years, I always politely changed the topic because it just wasn’t possible to condense over 18 years of expertise in land development into one short conversation. There’s no denying that the types of returns that are generated in development land deals far eclipses just about any other real estate business strategy. But until now, there’s been no access to the information, no access to the techniques, blueprint, methods and strategies for putting together land deals. But that has all changed. If you’re ready to secure the financial future of yourself and your family, you won’t want to miss our free presentation where we reveal what it really takes to create a profitable land business. Check out our new presentation here: https://shrtlnk.co/nbqFS One final note: This is not get-rich-quick-and-easy. There is no “easy button” that can be pushed for instant gratification. This is about building a legitimate, sustainable and successful business, just as I h

That day at work, Rose deliberately arranged a lot of work for Emily, so that she would have to work overtime in the company. By the time Emily had finished her work, it was almost 9 PM. When she got out to leave the company, she found that everyone had already gone home, and she was the only one left in the office. She packed up her items and was about to leave, when she noticed that the door of the office seemed to have been locked from the outside. Emily had no doubt in her mind that Rose was behind this. She was confused and lost in her thoughts when she suddenly heard a 'pop'. Soon after, the lights in the office had gone off and all of a sudden the entire office was shrouded in darkness. Emily's complexion turned pale. She was beginning to feel claustrophobic and the dark atmosphere reminded her of the traumatic experiences of being kidnapped, she suffered, when she was just a child. In fact, Rose was well aware of this fact as they had been friends for so long. It was too dark in the office to see anything. Emily calmed herself down, fumbled in her bag for the phone and then clicked on the address book. She tentatively called a few colleagues for help; they all answered her in a few perfunctory words before hanging up quickly, as if they had come up the excuses together. Rose's involvement in the matter was obvious. Emily didn't have many friends; to make matters worse, whatever friends she had, were living in other places. Emily hesitated for a moment before deciding to call Jack. At the very least, she had hoped that he would help her for old time's sake. Unfortunately, all her hopes were in vain as Rose answered Jack's phone. On the other side of the call, Rose made noise enticingly. She figured Rose meant to provoke her and show off her intimacy with Jack. She could also hear Jack vaguely, panting in the background. Nauseated by the noise, Emily couldn't help retching in disgust before hanging up quickly. She realized it was silly of her to call Jack for help. After a brie

It was time. . Aila placed her fingers on the door handle and turned. The door opened an inch. No bolts? He knew. She edged to the side of the doorframe, drew her sword and swung the door open. A crossbow bolt flew past her, striking the concrete wall opposite and gouging out a two-inch hole. Aila burst through the entrance before he could loose again. She cursed as she saw him pick up a second loaded bow, then dived to the floor as the bolt whistled over her head. She pulled her knife from her boot and hurled it at him, but he brought the bow up to his face, and the blade embedded itself into the thick stock. She rolled to her feet and rushed him, her sword flashing in the dim light. He swung the crossbow, and the edge of her sword snagged among the cords of the pulling mechanism. He pushed, shoving the bow into Aila’s face as he let go of it. Aila dropped her sword, and it fell to the floor with the bow in a tangled mess. The man smiled at her as he pulled a knife. ‘Stormfire. I wondered when you’d show up. Out of weapons? What a shame. Perhaps you’re not as good as they say you are.’ . The man’s eyes widened and he let out a garbled cry. Aila grabbed the stock of the other bow and rammed it into his face. He fell, but slashed out with his arm at the same time, cutting through Aila’s thin leather armour with the knife. She almost fell from the pain, but brought the stock down again, battering it against the side of the man’s head. He collapsed to the ground, his eyes closed. Aila fell to her knees, blood flowing from the wound in her abdomen. She powered her self-healing, first to rid herself of the pain, then to close the wound. She groaned as the pain faded, then checked her stomach, wiping away the blood to see that the injury had healed. She glance

Every Restaurant Owner has been there... You might be there now. "Quiet during the week, hopefully busy this weekend." And after everything that 2020 has thrown at you, this may be even more emphasized. But there is a way to break that cycle. Lou, Angus, Chris, Samuel & Catalina did it (this month!) Real people, real results. They have: New faces during the week. Increasing numbers of return customers Clear reasons why As a restaurant owner, you are told that if you provide a great product and a great service, delivering memorable experiences - you will be successful... Why is it then, that some are killing it, while others are struggling to make rent and wages? Maybe its the venue restrictions? Maybe they are operating too far below capacity? Maybe its the location? Maybe its the reputation? ... Regardless of what's holding you back... In order to grow your business in a meaningful way, you need a method to throttle how many customers coming through the door. So that you can 'turn on the customer tap' so to speak, when you need to and driving meaningful results. It is very hard to play the marketing guessing game of strategies that may or may not work. A set-and-forget system that does all the heavy lifting is the easiest way. Especially if it's scalable, predictable, and measurable. We have put together a FREE report which breaks down our strategies which Lou, Angus, Chris, Samuel & Catalina used to grow their revenues by $7000/week (this month!). To your hot hands on it, simply follow this link: https://bit.ly/restaurantexplosions 1) Put your email in the link and get the FREE Report. 2) Schedule a call to discover if these systems are a good fit for your business. Cheers! and see you on the other side. Daniel. P.S These techniques have been working better than ever this month! P.S.S Dont take it from me, listen to what Lou, Angus, Chris, Samuel & Catalina. https://bit.ly/restaurantexplosions

Despite having discussed it at home and during the long car ride to get here, I still can't understand exactly what I'm doing in Oregon. I mean, I kind of understand what my parents are telling me, but it just doesn't make sense that we've driven fifteen hundred miles to congratulate and introduce ourselves to somebody's son. Apparently one of my parent's old business associates or something stepped down from some prestigious spot and now his son is taking his place. In the car, when I asked why we couldn't just send a basket of fruit with a card or something, both of my parents shot me looks that told me I should stop talking about it. One plus side of this trip though is that I never realized just how pretty Astoria would be. I remember it from The Goonies and kind of imagined it full of little kids running around on a treasure hunt. As a child, that would've been awesome, but as a nineteen year old, I wasn't looking forward to it. Luckily, we're staying in a really nice hotel that has a great view of the Columbia River. The receptionist gave me a barely restrained look of disgust when I asked whether the river was fresh water or saltwater, but I was mostly just proud of myself for knowing it was a river. After that, we headed up to our room. It was gorgeous and I was kind of surprised. Normally on trips, my parents make us stay at a Super 8 or cheap motels. This was luxury at its finest. When I told them I was going to go do some exploring, they both looked at each other cautiously. 'Guys, seriously?' I rolled my eyes. Their over-protectiveness was getting to be a bit too much for me, so I reminded them that I was nineteen and fully capable of calling for help if I got lost. They reluctantly agreed to let me go after that. 'Remember that you need to be back here before three o'clock, okay?' Mom called out after me. I nodded and closed the door gently behind me. Now, I'm sitting here at some really nice café, reading a magazine about home furnishing and taking what I feel are sophisticated sips of my hot c
