Everyone can return to schools and workplaces, and travel is no longer restricted. But we still need to play it safe: • Auckland gatherings are limited to 10 people, or 50 people for tangihanga and funerals. • Gatherings for the rest of Aotearoa remain limited to one hundred people. • Face coverings are required on public transport. • Keep a 2-metre distance outside the home, and 1-metre in workplaces. • Wear a face covering when physical distancing is difficult. • Wash your hands regularly. • Stay home if you’re sick or vulnerable. • Avoid large gatherings. • Keep a record of your movements by using the NZ COVID Tracer app. Get it now at the App Store and Google Apps. Every action helps.

The Public Transport Privatisation Gravy Train rolls on ... Today it was revealed that Department of Transport and Infrastructure CE Tony Braxton-Smith has hand-picked three former Sydney-based colleagues for million-dollar contracts because the "local talent pool was not up to the task". Braxton-Smith even admitted he was unaware of the controversy surrounding the resignation of former NZ Transport Agency CE Fergus Gammie who Braxton-Smith handed a $1.4 million contract. According to the Advertiser, Gammie resigned following a number of scandals, including the recall of around 20,000 vehicles after inspectors were suspended for sub-standard work. In one case, the sub-standard work caused the death of a 65 year-old man. Braxton-Smith led the rush to public transport privatisation in NSW and he has been since been employed by the Marshall government in South Australia to do its dirty work. The public needs to be aware of the deals being done to enrich wealthy private sector bureaucrats and the shareholders of multinational corporations. South Australian public services are not for sale!

How to be a full-time mum without monetary burdens. Hi, my name is Tracy and I am a wife and a mother of 2 children. I am an Accountant by profession. In 2014, I had my first child and I decided to become a full-time mum because I didn't want to send her to daycare. Two years later I had my second child. I have realised that only one income is difficult to support a family of four anywhere nowadays. After paying for all our bills and the necessities of life, I find it near impossible to save for anything else. My husband and I only have enough to provide for the bare necessities. I was thinking of going back to the workforce to support our family but there was no one to help me with taking care of the kids. Most schools in NZ finish at 3pm. If I were to go back to the workforce, I'd need to send my kids to before and after school care which is not what I want. I want to continue taking care of them and be there to transport them to any activities they need to attend after school. This is why over the past few years, I have constantly searched for a way that I could continue to be a full-time mum and help supporting my family at the same time. After trying many different initiatives with no success, I finally came across this digital business in my newsfeed and shared it with my husband. We both agreed that it was a worthwhile initiative with amazing potential. I feel so blessed to be part of this business which has changed our lives forever. I can work at my own pace and comfort. This digital business provides me and my family with security and hope for a brighter future while allowing me to spend precious time with my children. Here are some highlights of our business: ✅ Automated and user-friendly system in place ✅ Instructional videos that are easy to understand are provided ✅ 1:1 coaching and mentorship ✅ NO selling involved ✅ No need to bother family and friends to join ✅ Leaving a legacy for our children ✅ We teach people from all industries Looking for something similar? Need someone to assist and lead through this extraordinary path? I would love to help anymore who’s serious about making change and getting their time back. I'm just an ordinary Mum who has bigger dreams for my kids. If I can do it, there's no doubt you can do it too. Click the Send Message and I'll individual reach out. Cheers, Tracy

Here is the first in a series of stories from our people: Our Whānau - Te Reo Te Rangi ‘T’ - Tanker Driver, Waikato "Pretty much my whole life’s been spent on the road. I’m always coming, going, or on the way. So it’s no surprise that I’ve had a long career in the transport industry. Yip, that sounds about right to me. When I was growing up, life was tough. I probably experienced things some kids would not want to experience growing up. I decided I wanted to break that cycle, so at 17 I joined the NZ Army. I didn’t expect it, but it had kids from the same situation as myself, and so they became my family for more than 12 years whilst I was there. They are still my “Brothers and Sisters” from another Mother. When I left, I knew that working in transport was another make or break moment to do something good with my life. But those long shifts on the road aren’t easy on you or the family and my early jobs took a pretty big toll, especially on the kids. I wish that could have been a bit different. Driving for a living, there’s a lot of time to reflect. It made me want to tap into my roots and give back, and for me those roots were the Army. I’ve been a volunteer with the Order of St John for 17 years, including the last 7 years, with the New Zealand Cadet Forces. As a New Zealand Cadet Force Officer, we see kids come and go that remind me of myself. The Cadets are full of kids just like I was. We teach them how to be safe, how to be New Zealand’s next leaders. It’s life changing for them, just like it was for me. These days, you won’t actually find me too far from home. Driving for Fonterra means I don’t have to travel those long distances. I can finally sit still and watch my kids grow up. I sometimes go down to their school and have lunch with them - we all think that’s pretty cool. Some of the other kids get envious. My kids come with me to the St John’s events and volunteer their time too, showing big and little kids alike around the ambulance. It’s nice to be able to share those lessons, make other people feel good, show respect for the jobs and roles we play in the community. And yeah, it’s nice to finally stop moving too."

People are loving the freedom of walking, cycling and scooting when they have more space. Some cities are making more space so people have choices about how they move around, while we need to physically distance. Why not grab a bit of fresh air on some of your trips?
