Rayne stood looking at her reflection in the mirror. She was dressed in a pale green ballgown that clung to her curves and left little to the imagination. Her jet-black curls were swept up and pinned to her head leaving her neck exposed. Tonight was the night that most of the unmated wolves in all the North American packs would hopefully find their mates. She was sure all of them were just oozing with excitement. I am so happy. It is the most important day of my life after all. I am getting married to the love of my life. I am getting married to the only person I loved so much in this world. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a long White wedding gown with an umbrella cut and heart shape strapless dress. It was lacey at some parts and the corset I wore underneath the dress made my figure look better. My light brown hair was down into curls and flower clips were attached to the left side of my hair. I was completely ready. My make-up was done perfectly with shimmery red lipstick and my blue eyes looked absolutely beautiful with the liner that my makeup man applied on me. I wore a white peep sandal which increased my original height of 5′8" to three to four inches more. "Oh my God! You look so beautiful Juliette" Kiara my best friend squealed as she took me into a hug. "Thank you" I blushed as I turned around towards the mirror shyly. "Aww look at you. Today is your wedding and you are still shying. What will you do in your Wedding night?" She elbowed me and made me grow even redder than I already was. "Kiara!" I shushed her as she began to laugh like a hyena at my expression and hugged me sideways. "Emmett is just so lucky" she spoke as she looked at me through the mirror. Her long black hair looked beautiful as she braided it to her side and she was wearing a golden colour strapless gown with red lipstick. Her black eyes looked beautiful with her cat-eye style and she stood confident with her 5′7" height, wearing her pair of heels. She was a beautiful woman. Kiara Richmond was the hottest girl in the town. She was born to the wealthiest family in New York and lived with her parents in the most luxurious part of New York enjoying her Spinster life. The only thing was she never believed in love. I wonder sometimes, how we both became best friends. I also belong to a wealthy family just like her but opposite to her I totally believed upon love. I liked to Study when she liked to party. I liked to party when

The Mate Ball. She was not. She didn't want a mate. She didn't need a mate. She planned on going Rogue and leaving her pack behind. No one here would miss her anyway. No one in The Jade Moon pack cared for one little orphaned wolf. The Alpha only allowed her to stay because she was his old Beta's daughter. Her parents were killed in the last pack war ten years ago. She was eight years old the night her parents died. The night her life changed and all those who loved her were taken from her. Finding a mate was supposed to bring the other half of her soul into her life. She doubted very seriously that it would be good. Very little in the last ten years were good. She was Beta born but treated like an omega, except for tonight she was groomed for her mate, if he was even out there, with the hopes that she would be taken off their hands. "Earth to Rayne!" A voice shouted from the doorway to the ratty little room she called her bedroom. She looked over to see the Alpha's daughter Bridgette standing in the doorway in her skin tight blood-red ball gown. Her face was caked in makeup, her lips a deep red, and her eyes were lined in black eyeliner to make her blue eyes stand out. She looked like a painted-up whore. Fitting since it matched her behavior. Rayne would be beyond happy just to be rid of her. "It is time to go and you know how father hates to be kept waiting, so let's get moving." Her voice just oozed . "Let's go then. The sooner we get there the sooner I can get back here and on with my life," She lifted the skirt of her gown and walked to the door. "You mean the sooner y

"It is time to go and you know how father hates to be kept waiting, so let's get moving." Her voice just oozed viciousness. She has been one of Rayne's worst enemies since they were kids. Rayne look her straight in the eye. She had no intention of coming back here tonight. She had stashed a bag full of her belongings in a tree outside the pack borders. She shook herself out of her thoughts and followed Bridgette down the hallway that led to the attic door. They climbed down the stairs to the first floor of the Alpha's mansion to find Alpha Wilson standing in the entry hall glaring up at them as they descended the stairs. "About time you two got down here. I have been waiting for over twenty minutes." She knew if they didn't hurry that she would be wearing one of his bruises for the rest of the night. Not that she wasn't used to being his punching bag, but tonight she was not going to be his victim again. She was done being this pack's whipping dog. She squared her shoulders and prepared to go to the ballroom where hundreds of wolves from all over North America were milling about, drinking, dancing, and waiting for the clock to strike midnight. The time where all the underage wolves would turn eighteen and they would sense their mate if he or she were near. -----------------------------
