I was tweaking my campaign but thought I would stop and quickly write this important message to all business owners and marketers running Facebook & Google ad campaigns in Singapore. After managing 80+ accounts across the last 4 years as an agency helping some of the biggest brands in industries ranging from education, mortgage to beauty, I think we found the no.1 key to a high-ROI ad campaign. It is not a sexy answer. Probably not the answer you are looking for. So.. The no.1 key is... hard work. Call it cliche or lame. But it is true. If you would just buckle down and squeeze your brain juice and create 1 more ad, it could mean the difference between a campaign making a loss or a very decent gain. In the screen capture you are seeing below is that of an active ad campaign. After trying out about 6 different ad angles, we still couldn't get our breakthrough. But we decided to create just 1 more ad. And boom! It took off. The cost per lead was about 4-7 times lower than the other ads. But more importantly, it was an ad that could scale and bring us to beyond 100 leads. (Seasoned ad specialists will tell you that scaling is key, way superior to the cost per lead metric) Also note that these are ads belonging to 1 adset, which means that target audience is the same. Time and again, we see this trend - that 1 ad that would change everything and turn around a failing campaign. 50 years ago, David Ogilvy, the advertising legend termed it the 'big idea'. Today, the beauty of Facebook & google campaign in the digital era meant that you could test and change ad ideas as quickly as you change clothes without wasting $7000 on a newspaper ad. An advertising miracle, some would say. A huge pity is that most businesses stop at 1 ad copy for an ad campaign and call it a day. The potential is thwarted. I understand- businesses think that big ideas come with big price tags. That's why in our agency, we don't put hefty price tags on 'ideas'. We talk about results.
