"Love me or hate me, either way I'm already on your mind. I win. You lose." As the Alpha King of all werewolves and lycans, Aero needed to be fair to all. He ruled with an iron fist, a steady head and a balanced emotion. He was perfect in everyt. Chapter 1 - Prologue < Serena > Paintings. I always love them. Whenever there was an art show near Manhattan, I make it a point to go check the artworks and possibly buy one. Or two. Or three of them. What I look for in a painting were the strokes the painter uses, the use of colors and how they blend in with the picture in general, and of course, the drawing. I had always loved fantasy-inspired paintings. Fantastical landscapes, mythical creatures, men and women wearing weird clothing, oh yes, I collected them all. They had always reached out to a part of my soul that I had been guarding since I lost my parents. They had always called out to a part of me that I wasn’t sure what. Maybe, my parents as painters could be the reason. They influenced my tastes after all. But deep inside me, I knew there was always something special about these types of paintings I couldn’t quite figure out. One rainy day, I ran across an antique shop in downtown Manhattan about to be closed by the bank for bankruptcy. The different antique displays were spread all over the street in the hopes that some passers-by would still buy them. I caught sight of a beautiful painting of a landscape. Breathtaking it was and purely, for lack of a better word, out-of-this-world. The painting showed a mountain range with its slopes covered in autumn trees. In the center of this mountain range, just nestled on top the hill was a silver-plated castle. The details were extraordinary, magical even. I couldn’t resist its call, so in the end, I bought it. Plus, I didn’t want it to be wet with the rain. I wanted to give it a home. The antique shop owner, an old lady probably in her late sixties, was gracious enough to give me a discount considering the painting had smudges on the edges due to its aged state. I was kind enough to refuse it. If she was in bankruptcy, at least my full payment of the painting would help her in some way. “May the magic be with you always,” she said with a smile as we parted. I just shrugged my shoulders never really thinking much about her words. I didn’t know then, it had meaning. The first night the painting was with me, I dreamed about magical creatures: behemoths in the sky, beautiful mermaids swimming in the ocean, and fairies hiding in the woods. The dream was lovely. I didn’t want it to end. The second night, I dreamed about the castle on the hill. It was beckoning me, wanting me to go there. I woke up in the middle of the night panting. Not knowing exactly what got me so worked up. The third night, my dream brought me inside the castle. It was enormous with arched roofs and glass walls. In a blink of an eye, I was sent to a bed chamber. The sheets were covered with an embroidered insignia: a profile of what looked like an animal—a wolf—and around it were curves, lines and symbols I had never come across. It was beautifully colorful. But what really captured my attention was the one lying on it. It was a man and from what I could gather, the king of the castle as he had a crown on top his head screaming almighty powerful. I had to take in deep breaths just to calm myself down. One, two, three. One, two, three. But I knew I was fooling myself. I felt bothered by it and I stayed like that for the whole day until the fourth night came. The dream didn’t start with anything magical or downright erotic really. It was just me inside my bed, lying like a log, unmoving, yet inside my head, I heard an ethereal voice—a woman’s voice—calling out to me to stand up and touch the painting. And like a puppet, I did. The next thing I knew, I woke up inside that castle’s majestic chamber with the said king. Chapter 1 - Meet the King < Aero > On his deathbed, my father gave the crown to me, but he let me promise that I’d get a queen in the next three days. Of

SWUD - Sleep When "U" Die
COVID-19 True Colours was inspired by heartache and pain following the death of my sister from cancer in 2019. I started writing at her funeral but could not find the right words to finish it, until March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic claimed so many lives mostly that of the vulnerable, but in the midst of chaos, we see hope and the “True Colours” of the health services shine through... Amazing fireworks and a "metal shower" are seen in China's Changsha ancient town during May Day holiday. "Metal shower" is a folk art involving the spraying of molten iron and wood dust into the sky, creating a spectacular array of fiery sparks.

OUR UNIVERSE AND ITS TRUE GRANDEUR Masroor H. Bukhari 21st Dec. 2019 [Image: A beautiful logarithmic plot of the universe by Italian artist, Pablo Carlos Budassi with thanks, which attempts to illustrate our universe in one iris-like image, from the smallest to the largest, starting with our sun and solar system in the center, in the Perseus arm of the Milky way, all the way to the Virgo cluster and superclusters and finally the large-scale structure of the universe, the filaments, and finally the Cosmic Microwave Background at the outer belt of the image – all the universe beautifully encapsulated in an eye’s iris! Image Courtesy: Pablo Carlos Budassi.] Whenever one makes a gaze at the night sky, finds an enormous universe around, with countless glittering stars, galaxies and constellations, however the universe, in reality, is even more enormous and gigantic, a large part of it obscured from our eyes and even beyond the reach of our instruments and the window of space-time we are situated in. The solar system we inhabit, with its central star Sol (our sun) and our blue planet and many planets circling it, is in fact like a tiny dot lying along one of the gigantic arms of the beautiful galaxy Via Lactea (The Milky Way) which contains in it nearly a hundred billion stars like our sun, and much bigger than it. But Milky way is just the beginning and not the center of the universe, it is not even a large galaxy. Milky way, and our nearest neighbor galaxies Andromeda, Triangulum and others are a group of around sixty galaxies gravitationally bound in our local group, which is a small and quite modest group on the enormous Virgo cluster, which although having a collection of more than a thousand galaxies, is just one of the several clusters in the beautiful constellation of Virgo, one of the twelve constellations which adorn the night sky and have befriended the human race for ages. Its most brightest member is the elliptical galaxy Meisser 49 (M49), and the most well-celebrated member the superelliptical galaxy Meisser M87 (M87), due to the supermassive black hole at it galactic center (the one which got photographed this year and became an instant celebrity!), with more than ten thousand globular clusters encircling it. What is a black hole? Stars during their natural course of evolution burn material and fuse elements, starting with simple hydrogen atoms fusing themselves to form helium and then helium turning into carbon, and so on so forth. However, when a massive star cannot fuse elements beyond iron (which has perhaps one of the highest binding energy in elements), undergoes a spectacular and extremely fast collapse owing to the force of gravitation, leading to a huge explosion, called a Supernova, which throws matter and radiation in all directions and is a nursery of future stars and galaxies. The core left behind is just a ball of mass which does not undergo any further collapse (due to the electron degeneracy pressure which prevents electrons from binding with protons) and can form a White Dwarf, for core masses less than the Chandrashekhar Limit (nearly one and half of our sun’s mass), but if the core is much heavier, at the onset of the Chandrashekhar Limit, the enormous gravitational pull overcomes the electron degeneracy pressure and contracts the core to form a neutron star, a star much bigger than our sun but the size of a cricket stadium (a core made of quark-gluon plasma in its form for technical readers). The neutron degeneracy pressure does not allow gravitational collapse to proceed further. Some of these neutron stars have been identified as Pulsars which emit periodic pulses of electromagnetic radiation. However, in the cases, when mass of the core is way higher than even the Chandarashekhar limit, the core would reach the final fate of a star, ie a black hole, a singularity in its true sense at its center (like an infinity, a mysterious object which is like a whole galaxy enclosed in a volume much smaller than the size of a golf ball). Once it is formed, it has such an immense gravity in its
