As I observe the market and the issues my clients face with their ad campaigns… …I see a common theme these days and it goes something like this: Ads run for a few days and bring in great results, then slowly taper off and die a painful death! OR ads start off amazing then blow to bits all of a sudden. It’s frustrating, especially if you’ve been around since the days when ads would perform unchanged for MONTHS on end. I once had a client’s ad that ran unchanged for over 18 months profitably! (We tested against it constantly and couldn’t beat that control) Anyway… I’ve been in the lab testing different models trying to crack this nut again. Because let’s face it: If we can do LESS work, that’s ALWAYS better! Here’s a model I’ve tested that’s keeping campaigns producing consistent results for months on end. I have several clients that have gotten 6-10 months of profitable results with this model: Campaign structure: - Objective = Conversions - Starting Daily Campaign Budget = $100 - $500 (I’ve tested numerous budgets and this strategy works BETTER with HIGHER budgets) - Bid Strategy = Lowest cost Ad set structure: - Target audience = biggest, broadest, yet relevant audience you can use. Only target ONE audience and do NOT check the “expand interests” box. - Exclude leads and buyers that are already in the funnel you’re promoting - Keep demographics broad (men + women, 18-65+, US) - Use ALL placements - Conversion window set to “7 day view, 1 day click” - Optimize for conversions Ad structure: - Insert two ads into each ad set. 1 image based. 1 video based. - Use the same copy for both ads - Make the primary video less than 90 seconds and formatted square so it fits the majority of placements - Make a separate 15 second video for stories - Combine BOTH videos onto the same ad What this does: Your creatives and campaigns will now be fully optimized to allow Facebook’s algorithm to do the work for you.
