The world is on fire right now and it’s more important than ever to look after yourself. The outbreak of COVID-19 is unprecedented. With gyms closing around the world, I’ve been working out a way that you can stay on track with your fitness and continue to stay healthy. You might find the coronavirus outbreak to be pretty stressful. Fear and anxiety are perfectly normal but can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions. Managing stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger. Here are some things you can do to support yourself: Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories. This includes taking a break from social media. Take care of your body. Take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate. Try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and avoid drugs and alcohol. Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy, like reading, watching Netflix, journaling or spending time with animals. Connect with others. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling. Check-in with your friends and family so you can support each other through this! Call your healthcare provider if stress gets in the way of your daily activities for several days in a row. I’ve added home workouts to my plans so you can stay on track and maintain some structure and routine during these uncertain times. Look after yourself and others!

Despite the current risks, we’re working hard to reach suffering animals throughout the crisis, like Luca, who was found under some decking, alone, just a few days old. Luckily, we reached him in time and he joined some other kittens being cared for by one of our Inspectors at home. We’re receiving 116 calls every hour about animal welfare, but sadly, the effects of the Coronavirus crisis are hitting home and we face a serious funding problem. Please start a monthly gift now to help us carry on this vital work.

‼️Sunday is the last day to give! We need YOUR help to meet our goal to send 2.4 million meals to adoptable pets‼️ Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, shelters and rescue organizations are experiencing a massive drop in donations. Many of these groups, after food costs, have little or nothing left in their budget for medical treatment, vaccines or adoption programs. For just $25, YOU could provide 500 meals to rescue animals in need. They need you now! Give today. ❤️❤️
Sneha's Care
Please help! Sneha's Care encounters influx of animals as people face financial hardships from COVID-19 pandemic While the coronavirus outbreak led to a pet adoption boom and empty shelters in many countries, the opposite is true for Sneha's Care in Nepal. As people are forced to cut cost after a strict lockdown, many are no longer able to look after the strays in their area and take them to the vet if necessary. As a result, more dogs are being dropped off at Sneha's shelter every day. In order to deal with those large numbers of animals, Sneha's Care is more than ever dependent on foreign donors. Please help Sneha's Care to continue protecting animals from hunger, neglection, disease and abuse. Just last month, five tigers and three lions at the Bronx Zoo in New York City tested positive for the #coronavirus. Tigers and lions are wild animals. But it seems pets are also not immune. A few pets – dogs and cats included – have also been confirmed to be infected with the virus. These confirmed animal cases could be a source of worry for some pet owners. If animals can get #COVID19, could humans also get it from their pets?#Answerbank

Poaching spikes amid lockdown in South Asia As countries in South Asia went into lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus, criminals in the illegal wildlife trade took advantage. With authorities focused on enforcing lockdown restrictions, poachers felt less likely to be caught. As a result, authorities in India, Pakistan and Nepal said there was a surge in illegal hunting, including of endangered animals and rare birds. To make matters worse, the economic consequences of the Covid-19 lockdown also saw people who had lost their livelihoods turn to poaching to support themselves. https://bit.ly/2zkxCVc
