I tried to talk to every pack doctor, most of whom dismissed me. A few took interest in me and my unusual situation. But, all of them saw me as an experiment. A project. I had enough of them treating me like a specimen. Just like how my parents had enough of me. They had enough of a wolf-less daughter who brought nothing but embarrassment in the family. Well, technically, I am not part of the family anymore since they kicked me out of the house a year and a half ago. Actually, they never really treated me as family even before this fiasco. My former family had always been resentful of me. After all, I'm their ordinary daughter who didn't and couldn't accomplish anything. And they already have their perfect daughter, Analise, to be proud of. I have, long time ago, accepted my fate with my family. But having no wolf? I think that fate has been more than cruel this time. The day I was supposed to shift was the day when my life and soul has been crushed. Having no wolf means I am a weakling compared to everybody. I will only have a human strength. It means that I will forever be a social outcast in this pack. And I cannot go out. I am not allowed to leave this pack. I have been too involved and I have too much knowledge of the pack for them to let me go. Black Mist Pack just can't take that risk. Pathetic? Yes, but those things are not the reasons why my soul and my heart was, still, and forever will be broken. We get_the_best_Corner Shelf_ad

Prologue In an unused room in the oldest building in the area, an enormous amount of books and other documents were placed in a dusty corner. Only once in a month this old and forgotten room was cleaned, and today was one of those days. An old man was assigned to clean this area, and he was usually frowning when the cleaning day arrived. "These books are not necessary. Those important books were already transferred into the new library. Why do they make me clean this dusty place every month?" He said grumpily as he unwilling wiped the cover of a very old book. Fortunately, his phone rang signaling the end of his work. He could finally go home. The old man hurriedly shoved the old book back inside the shelf and went out the room. He didn't notice a small piece of paper that fell from the book. This piece of paper where a note is handwritten. The ink has mostly faded away due to time. However, if only someone can read it, they would see that this note, which seemingly looked irrelevant, contained deep pain and an eternal promise of love: The first time I met you was indeed unusual, if not surreal. There I was, thinking that destiny completely made me foe. I was strong and powerful, lonely and deprived. Deprived of love and happiness which seemed to surround me, but never anchored unto me. I was becoming desperate and depressed. That was until you found me. But fate decreed that I'll lose the one that mattered most. To find you just to lose you, can something be more twisted? I saw your loving smile slowly shattered and became one with the wind. And this, you did just to ignite the fire in my soul. There was nothing that could dull my pain. In this life, I lost you. But, my soul will not wither, and the fire you ignite will not falter. I will keep it burning until the day I find you again, My sweet mate. Chapter One Lilly Today has, so far, been normal for me. Normal as in going to school, trying to learn, and trying to look at the ground for the whole time. You see, I can't just dare, not even once, to look up and stare at anyone around me. I am not allowed to look at them, I am not allowed to look at their eyes. I was born this way, and I can't blame them for not interacting with me. For in this world, I am an embarrassment. A liability. A disappointment. Heck, I even feel disappointed on myself. But what can I do? I just need to accept fate as it is. Yes, fate has been cruel to me. It has been two years since I learned that I don't have a wolf. Yes, I was born in a pack with two perfect werewolf parents. No one understands the genetic malfunction that happened to me. I tried to talk to every pack doctor, most of whom dismissed me. A few took interest in me and my unusual situation. But, all of them saw me as an experiment. A project.
