Five years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story: When I was 25 years old my legs became completely numb from my knees down to my feet, then I began experiencing pain. I went to the hospital, my doctor, a neurologist and, after a series of tests- no answers. Only months later, I began experiencing the same symptoms in both of my hands. After more tests, a hand specialist diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome and did surgery on both wrists. It didn’t help. 6 months later I began to lose feeling in both of my hands, I lost my fine motor movement and for the next 3 years my situation progressed to the point where I could no longer wear heels, put on my makeup, blow dry my hair, or even write which can actually very disconcerting for a 25 year old woman. I saw highly recommended neurologists, a Neurospecialist, Rheumatologist, Neuromuscular Disorder doctor, and even a Neurosurgeon from Columbia University in NYC. 25 MRI’s, dozens of other tests, a spinal tap, cortisone injections, physical therapy for 6 months, and being put on medications with terrible known side effects from Lyrica, Gabapentin, Cymbalta, pain meds, to muscle relaxers, I knew something was very wrong but I still had no answers. I ended up on unemployment, then on disability. But just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, my boyfriend of 5 years Kyle tragically passed away September 3rd, 2018. I will never forget how heart-wrenching it was to stand in front of his funeral guest book and not be able to sign my name due to my severe neuropathy in my hands. He was my biggest and, honestly my only support I had at that time. Everyone else around me assumed that because of my young age that I should just eat right and exercise and that would make all my problems go away, but not him. Doctors at this point told me there was nothing more they could do for me and my only option was to either increase the doses of my medications, or simply live with it. So here’s what happened next: Instead of just laying in bed, crying in despair I decided to get back to work, despite my physical limitations. Because that’s what Kyle would want me to do. It’s strange how life is, because now I’ve had another life changing moment. THE FOLLOWING day I get hired at a Wellness Center. I come to find out that the Doctor was treating patients suffering from Peripheral Neuropathy with a program called Blueprint to Neuropathy. At that point I disclosed to him the issues I had been having. His exam revealed that I had 80-95% sensory loss in both my hands and feet and although my case was so severe he assured me this program would work based upon the fact that hundreds of doctors around the country, who’ve received additional specific training in exactly what I have, were also using this same program for one simple reason… it works! The program consists of two pieces of home equipment, specific supplements, and dietary changes. One of the devices was low-level light therapy used for providing nitric oxide to allow blood flow to get to the affected areas. The other device was simply for re-educating the nerves for better communication between them. After hearing for so long that there was nothing I could do I was extremely skeptical but I also had nothing to lose at that point. I purchased the equipment and supplements with my own money, followed the doctor’s dietary recommendation, and within the first 2-3 weeks I could already tell a difference. I want you to know there is hope. Within a month and a half I knew I had finally found an answer because I could write my name, and for me that meant everything. And the more I continued to use the equipment the more I continued to get better. Today, one year later, I have improved so much to the point where I can finally wear heels again, I can do my makeup, and most importantly I can write full sentences! It hurts my heart that Kyle never got to see me get better because we all know that when we are suffering it does not just affect us, but also our loved ones around us. By no mean

Here's something many Tulsa residents might not know about me. It altered the course of my life and is a BIG reason why I'm committed to paying it forward. When I was in grade school I used to suffer from severe headaches that would last for weeks. Sometimes the meds wouldn't even begin to touch the pain and the headaches would cause me to miss school occasionally. Not until an inner tube snow accident that hurt my lower back in high school had I been to a chiropractor. I went in with near crippling low back pain and shortly after treatments I was walking better. Furthermore, I had noticed something else- I wasn't getting headaches anymore! My chiropractor had explained that the vertebrae in the neck is the most common source of headaches and that is where mine had been coming from. The summer before my senior year in high school my mom had a telephone pole fall on her head and shattered several vertebrae in her back. Thankfully, she survived, but had a long difficult road to recovery. After she had recovered enough to get around she consulted a surgeon who recommended a 14 inch rod back fusion. As she contemplated what she wanted to do, she asked a very important question to the surgeon: "If you were me, would you do the surgery?" The surgeon replied "No, I would not." My mom thanked him, and left, and never ended up having the surgery. My point with this story is that that was one of the turning points in my life and career path, because that got me to thinking- Why would a doctor EVER recommend something that they wouldn't do for themselves? That question has lingered with me to this day. It was a life changing decision for her to NOT have the surgery, and I have no doubt in my mind that it was the correct decision. By the time I started college I still hadn’t decided what kind of doctor I wanted to become, and it took me three years of undergrad before I had an awakening moment. I had considered medical, and surgical, but I couldn’t help but linger on my moms experience with her would have been surgeon. Finally, chiropractic was brought back to my attention, and it just immediately clicked to me. Not only had chiropractic helped me to live a better life, it had helped my mom manage her pain from her injury. Chiropractic had everything I was looking for in a career- helping people feel better, live healthier happier lives, and it was a safer option than pain pills. I'm eternally grateful for the doctors who saved my mom's life, but when it comes to pain management, with or without injury, drugs and surgeries aren't always the best route. Chiropractic care is all about finding the source of your problem and correcting it, not only masking the symptoms. It isn’t exclusively for pain relief either, although it does help it. The adjustments also help to maintain nerve function and a healthy spine. Chiropractic is for everyone. I have two kids whom have been adjusted since birth. In my office. I see families with kids of all ages including pregnant women. I am extremely grateful to be able to help so many people live healthier, more active, pain free lifestyles, and I am passionate about showing people how to reach their goals.
